Been sued in small claims
Someone sued you. You can respond — and sue them back.
If you were served with a California small claims case, you may have your own claim against the person who sued you. You can file it into the same case — it's called a Defendant's Claim (form SC-120). We prepare it, an attorney reviews it, and we get it filed and served before your trial date.
- Attorney-reviewed, every timeAn attorney from Kolmogorov Law signs off before your claim is filed or served.
- It rides the same caseYour claim is heard at the same trial, on the same date — no separate case, no separate trip to court.
- We watch the deadlineA Defendant's Claim has to be filed and served a set number of days before trial. We build to that date so you don't miss it.
What you'll need
- The case number and county from the papers you were served with (the SC-100)
- Your trial date
- The name and address of the person or business who sued you
- What they owe you, and how you figured the amount
